What Psychological Safety Looks Like

What psychological safety means:
Freedom to be your authentic self.
  • A non-threatening, non-toxic, non-judgmental workplace free from animosity, abuse, harassment, hostility, punishment.
  • Your ideas are actively solicited, listened to, and acted on.HR acts like employee advocates instead of instituting Draconian Management edicts.
  • Career and professional success is driven by a culture of MERITOCRACY, not NEPOTISM/CRONYISM.
…but it also requires much MUCH more:
  • The ability to try new things (take risks, grow, and develop) without the stigma of “failure” and reprisals.
  • Positive and corrective feedback are both delivered in a timely and meaningful fashion, without judgement.
  • Communication is targeted to an individual’s personality and preferred style of interaction. Equitable compensation is a given.
  • The Dark Triad behaviors of Narcissism, Sociopathy, and Machiavellianism are not tolerated.
